Monday 1:00 p.m. Classes are Cancelled

Due to low registration the new tandem classes (Story Time Yoga and Cardio n' Sculpt), which we tested this session on Mondays at 1:00 p.m. are cancelled.

We may try them again, with greater emphasis on pre-registration for the Story Time Yoga class in future sessions. Thank you to those who expressed interest and came to the classes! It just wasn't enough to make them viable.

Recharging & Staying Healthy: 5 Questions with Terese Cleary

Mirjam's Friday 9:15 a.m. Yoga n' Pilates class (Terese Cleary is fourth from the right in black)

“The fitness classes at Beverly Bodyworks give me the opportunity to recharge and stay healthy.”
~ Terese Cleary

With kids heading back to school, it's time to figure out our fitness schedules... As some of you know, I have been working out and teaching at Beverly Bodyworks Inc. for years (over 8 now). I still think it is one one our neighborhood's local treasures and invite you to check out our Fall Class Schedule, including our upcoming FREE Week (September 9th - 14th) and two new classes (on Mondays at 1:00 p.m.)!

As I shared in my first "5 Questions" profile of instructor Mirjam Quinn, in January, as longtime member and instructor at Beverly Bodyworks, I know why I keep coming back week after week and year after year, but I was curious to know what motivates others to do the same.

So I decided to find out by asking Beverly Bodyworks team members and clients five questions to help get to know them better and thought you would be interested in their answers. I intend for this to be a regular series here on our Beverly Bodyworks website, so you can look forward to more “5 Questions” profiles in the future.

This time the spotlight is on Terese Cleary, a local mom of three, active neighborhood volunteer (at her parish and children's school) and another longtime Beverly Bodyworks client. Terese has been coming to Beverly Bodyworks regularly for as long as I can remember. I always enjoy seeing her smiling face when I teach or next to me when I am taking a class.

Question #1: There are so many options to work out and stay fit in our Beverly neighborhood. Why do you like to take exercises classes at Beverly Bodyworks?

I love the variety of workouts offered by the Beverly Bodyworks instructors. It's nice the way each instructor brings her own sense of style to her class. Whether its in her exercise preferences or music selection, the diversity keeps it interesting. I also like the large open gym at Immanuel Church. Did I mention the great group of women with whom I work out?

Question #2: What are some of your favorite classes at Beverly Bodyworks? What is it about those classes that appeal to and motivate you?

Monday's High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) energizes me. Tuesday's Active Yoga is a great follow up. One of my favorites is the Wednesday Step Class, it's fun and a great workout. Thursday's dance class is also a fun challenge for me. I love to wrap up the week with Friday Yoga n' Pilates, it's inspiring!

Questions #3: You are a busy mom, with three school age children, how do you find time to prioritize regular exercise in your life? How does Beverly Bodyworks help you with that?

I find the set class time at various points throughout the day work best for me. I've never been able to stick to a workout at a gym, I get too bored. I find that a 9:15 a.m. class is what gets me out the door! If that doesn't work on a particular day, I can try to make the evening classes.

Question #4: Besides Beverly Bodyworks, what are some of your favorite local treasures in our neighborhood (i.e. restaurants, shops, etc.)?

I most frequently hit County Fair, it's produce section is the best. I enjoy taking bike rides with my children to all our great neighborhood parks.

Question #5: What is one of your favorite quotes about life and/or parenting? Why does it speak to you?

You (Kathy) just actually quoted this to me the other day, "If you want something done, ask a busy person."

So many people I know are involved in work, community and family activities and are always willing to do more. That's why it's so important to carve out time for yourself, and if you have fun doing it, even better. The fitness classes at Beverly Bodyworks give me the opportunity to recharge and stay healthy.

Thank you so much for your time Terese and sharing why you keep coming back to Beverly Bodyworks!

Stayed tuned for another edition of "5 Questions with People Who Love Beverly Bodyworks"soon...
